Location

Suburban campus of 95 acres in La Mirada, CA, located on the border of Los Angeles and Orange Counties.

Seven Schools

School of Arts and Sciences, School of Business, School of Education, School of Intercultural Studies, School of Professional Studies, Rosemead School of Psychology, and Talbot School of Theology. Biola offers more than 145 academic programs, ranging from the B.A. to the Ph.D.

School Year Calendar

4-1-4 calendar. 2009-2010 school year begins August 26, 2009. Interterm begins January 4, 2010, and spring semester begins February 1, 2010. Biola offers two summer sessions.

In order to apply, you must...
1. Be an evangelical believer of the Christian faith
2. Submit all of the items below by the appropriate application deadline:

  • Pastor's reference

Campus Visits

Biola's Admissions Office is open from 8:30am-5:00pm, Monday-Friday. Visit options include a meeting with your admissions counselor, a tour of campus, class visits, and/or an overnight stay in a residence hall. Limited options are also available to families who would like to visit in the evening. Schedule a visit

Biola hosts a number of all-day and weekend preview events for prospective students and their families, including University Day in the fall and preview days in the spring.

Activities

Student government,study abroad, mission trips, student ministry opportunities, campus newspaper, yearbook, literary magazine, concert band, orchestra, jazz ensemble, chorale, gospel choir, speech and debate, drama, intramural sports, and clubs.

Athletics

Biola competes in the NAIA and Golden State Athletic Conference. Intercollegiate sports offered: Baseball (M), Basketball (M,W), Cross Country (M,W), Diving (M,W), Golf (M,W), Soccer (M,W), Softball (W), Swimming (M,W), Tennis (M,W), Track & Field (M,W), Volleyball (W). Cheerleading, club lacrosse, and numerous intramural sports are also offered.

Housing

Underclassmen under 21 years old and not living at home line in on-campus housing and have a cafeteria meal plan.

Safety

La Mirada is one of the 25 safest cities (of its size) in the U.S. according to FBI statistics. In addition, CNN Money Magazine recently named La Mirada the 34th "Best Place to Live" in the U.S., based on data such as low crime rates, school quality, arts and leisure opportunities, and racial diversity. Biola also employs the state-of-the-art 3N mass notification system in case of emergency
